eye | outside | eye ⟂⟂⟟𒅆𒇽𒅆 is written for voice and live interactive electronics, built in Max/MSP with SoMax 2 for pre-recorded corpus–system interaction. The corpus is constructed from double-bass and voice recordings by Joëlle Léandre, made for Somax2 during her residency at IRCAM; the composer performs the live voice and electronics layer.

The system does not accompany the performer. It listens, searches the archive of Léandre’s recorded playing, and answers with material she has already made — so what returns is recognisably hers, recombined by the system in real time.

01 AI A Room For The Belated Sentences Written for TAK Ensemble at the KEAR Electroacoustic Residency: an ensemble playing alongside a corpus of its own pre-recorded material, navigated live by SoMax 2 and FluCoMa.

02 AI What the C*rp*s Continuant A sustained negotiation between a prepared-guitar corpus and an asymmetrical, darbuka-derived exciter, navigated in real time by Somax2.

03 AI What the C*rp*s Lenition An alternation between two exciters that never quite settle into one another — falling water, punctual and ametric, and bowed metal, continuous and without attack — with Somax2 changing what it listens for as they trade places.
