Arundo_Trachea

A deep acoustic excavation of the oboe. Stripping away all melodic function, this piece deconstructs the instrument down to its rawest physical reality: a vibrating double reed and a hollow wooden tube. By forcing the acoustic signal through intense spectral manipulation and custom DSP, the sound is completely inverted. The listener is pulled directly inside the narrow conical bore to experience the microscopic friction of wood, raw breath and isolated air pressure anomalies.

The instrument is treated not as a source of music but as an anatomical specimen. Arundo_Trachea — named after Arundo donax, the cane used for reeds, and the biological windpipe — explores the claustrophobic resonance of a confined space. It is a sonic archaeology of the woodwind, reducing centuries of classical tradition into the brutal, pure acoustics of air forced through a pipe.
