Intergrain examines what appears to be a continuous scraping gesture at a much smaller scale. A pick dragged across the wound surface of a guitar or bass string crosses microscopic ridges: contact → interval → contact → interval. The güiro presents a related structure at another physical scale: a continuous gesture generated through successive collisions with a ridged surface.
